What is the difference between 10Base-T and 100Base-T?
Both
of these terms refer to a networking standard called "Ethernet" which
is the most common way of connecting computers together.
The terms 10Base-T (Ethernet) and 100Base-T (Fast Ethernet) [maximum length of 100 meters (330 feet)] refer to the performance capability of the Network Interface Card (NIC) 10Base-T has a rated transfer speed of 10 Megabits per second and 100Base-T is rated at 100 Megabits per second This, however, does not mean that a 100Base-T network is 10 times faster than a 10Base-T network .
ii)1000BASE-T (also known as IEEE 802.3ab) is
a standard for Gigabit Ethernet over twisted-pair wiring. Each
1000BASE-T network segment is recommended to be a maximum length of 100
meters (330 feet), and must use Category 5 cable or better (including
Cat 5e and Cat 6).
In the context of Ethernet networking, "10Base-T", "100Base-T", "1000Base-T", and "10000Base-T" represent
different data transfer speeds over twisted-pair copper cabling, with
the numbers indicating the speed in megabits per second (Mbps): 10 Mbps
for 10Base-T, 100 Mbps for 100Base-T, 1000 Mbps (or 1 Gigabit) for
1000Base-T, and 10,000 Mbps (or 10 Gigabit) for 10000Base-T; essentially
showing the progression of Ethernet speeds over time with increasing
